The moment you know you are pregnant, your mind skips forward to school plays and high school graduations and grandchildren. That’s just what happens. The loss of potential is a full and real loss, not one to be discounted.
Unfortunately, after the loss, I have noted that women need to talk about it – a lot. It helps them heal. Men, on the other hand, tend not to want to talk about it. They feel bad about not being able to protect their partner or their unborn child and want, more than anything else, to not talk about it. Both forms of grieving make sense to the unbiased observer. There is no good or bad way to grieve — we grieve as we grieve!
