This guide covers everything from tips and tricks for a smooth conception, how much caffeine is really okay during pregnancy, how to survive those first several confusing postpartum weeks and everything in between. Highly recommended

"What a life well lived as a health care practitioner. This was 40 years of love poured into word for us to share. This book is a roadmap for young women and a great study guide for medical students interested in this area of practice. Highly recommended."

MUST READ if trying to conceive or pregnant

"This book is very informative and easy to comprehend. The beginning is extremely insightful as I try to conceive my first child, and I will follow the recommendations provided. I learned that google isn’t always accurate based on some of the questions I previously researched. I highly recommend this book to anyone trying to conceive and to those who are already pregnant."

Talia C.

An Approachable Book

"I think so many books out there about pregnancy are so alarmist but yet don’t seem to truly prepare you. The author, though a retired OB, has an approachable voice that is research based and truly meant to help moms. This is a must read."

Nidhi R.

Comprehensive Quick Review

"I received this copy after entering a book give-away contest. As a mother of two, I revisited the contend and found it comprehensive and a great guide for inquiring minds. I actually ended up forwarding to a friend who’s expecting in 4 months. I trust that she too will pass it along to other mothers-to be friends."

Collette Cooley

Easy to read. Accurate.

Karen Lowe

So good!

"This book was exactly what I was looking for ... Felt like I'd gotten the opportunity to have one super long doctors visit and get all of my questions answered. I will revisit this many times throughout my pregnancy!"

Anna

Real book for real parents!

"... My husband and I were very fortunate to have a good pregnancy, up until delivery time. I (and my husband) are thankful for the "real" info in this book that prepared us for the good, the challenging and eventually the best blessing that one could ask for."

Erica Fischer-Cartlidge

I wish I had this guide before I was expecting.

"I find the information so down to earth, nonjudgmental, and useful. Dr. Johnson's guide is easily accessible and not overwhelming. It's like having a conversation with a friend who happens to be an expert in the field. I will definitely be recommending this book to my clients and friends!"

I really liked this book ...

"The tone of the book is collaborative not preachy... She does not come across as pedantic, but as extremely helpful in a nonjudgmental manner. I also like the support that she provides for the fathers to be."

Arthur C. Johnson III

Fun and very informative

"What an amazing book full of great information for an expecting parent. Dr. Johnson provided great insight and I learned so much. Highly recommended if you are pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant!"

Juliana Parker

Truly Informative

"Truly informative for mom-to-be, couples, and woman who are thinking of getting pregnant and having kids one day. It discusses the pre pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum phases in depth."

Krishna

Short and sweet

"This is probably the most simplistic breakdown of what to expect but it was a really good starting point for someone brand new to pregnancy, labor, postpartum, etc. There is so much information out there that it was nice to ease in with the most important facts with some anecdotal stories sprinkled throughout. If you're a novice like me, I recommend this book. If you're a pro at it then skip it."

Erin

Personal stories told with benevolence

"I loved her personal stories, and learning from a professional in the Field of helping women deliver children was very helpful. I am preparing to have children and this book helped me realize some things I didn't know because my Field of Study is different. Learning from Heather Johnson was really nice because her experience speaks to guiding a woman through the processes that occur within the stages of motherhood, from a Doctor's perspective. Thank you Doctor Heather Johnson for being benevolent."

Theresa

Clear, concise, engaging, and easy read

"This book is no frills and well thought out. I skimmed it the day it arrived and feel like it's going to be a resource I come back to for easy advice. It feels like the perfect little handbook to prepare myself mentally for getting pregnant! I find lots of books overcomplicate, add tons of detail. This one is direct, to the point and makes me feel more confident to start this journey."
